The draw for the 2022 Ashanti Regional Inter-Schools and Colleges Boys Soccer competition has finally been held with some interesting and exciting pairings coming up.
Defending champions Kumasi High School couldn’t win their protest and henceforth will miss out in the upcoming tournament.
Host of this year’s edition Obuasi Sec/Tech who emerged victors in 2015, will clash with newbies, Agric Nzema SHS.
First runners up, Adu Gyamfi SHS, will definitely start as one of the favourites, having clinched the competition on five occasions in the last twelve years and will face surprise package St Jerome SHS in the round of 32.
Prempeh College will hope to end their nine year abeyance this year with their last glory coming in 2013, and have been paired against Asare Bediako SHS in the first phase.
T.I Ahmadiyyah SHS had a decent qualifiers and will look to emulate what they did in 2018 to end their long standing hoodoo, having lost it in 2013 to Prempeh and 2017 to ADGASS. They will battle it out with Antoa SHS.
Arguably, by name and pedigree, the biggest fixture of round 32 will be between four time champions Kumasi Anglican SHS and Kumasi Academy SHS. The Super KASS last won in 2016 after defeating Islamic SHS via penalty shootouts whiles KUMACA are yet to have their hands gripped on the trophy since the inception of the competition.
The tourney will begin on Wednesday, July 6, to Tuesday, July 12, 2022 and will be held at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
