
Asamoah Gyan retired but failed to fulfilled his promise to
Asamoah Gyan, the legendary Ghanian footballer, announced his retirement from Football career on June 21, 2023 bringing an end of remarkable career that spanned more than 15 years.
Gyan who is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s greatest ever footballer, made his debut for the Black Stars in 2003 and went on to make 109 appearance for the national team, scoring an 51 goals.
Despite his retirement from Football, He played club’s like Udinese, Rennes, Sunderland, Al Ain, Shanghai SIPG, Al Ahli, Kayserispor, North East and Legon Cities before hanging up his boots.
But Gyan failed to fulfilled his promise for one Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
“He said I will play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko before I retire from Football career but Gyan couldn’t fulfilled his promise.”
