Kofi Badu, a former international for Ghana, has insisted that Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew must be excluded from the Black Stars squad because they have reached the end of their usefulness for the national team.
Since the beginning of this decade, both of the Ayew brothers have been active members of Ghana’s national soccer team.
Badu claims that if the Ayew brothers’ father was anything like Abedi Ayew Pele, he would have long since requested that his sons step down from their role as members of the Black Stars squad.
He went on to say that the Black Stars, Ghana’s senior national football team, has been waiting far too long for other players to come into their own.
“If Jordan and Dede Ayew weren’t their father’s sons, Abedi Pele would have long called for them to be out of Black Stars,” the Asante Kotoko legend said in an interview with Kumasi-based Kessben FM. “Abedi Pele would have long called for them to be out of Black Stars.”
“Allow me to tell you the truth. It should be obvious. They have been playing the black stars for a considerable amount of time, and it is now time for them to move on,” he explained.
The brothers are currently in Ghana with the Black Stars as they prepare for the upcoming Afcon 2023 qualifiers as well as Ghana’s pre-World Cup friendlies.
On Friday morning at the Kirin Cup, Ghana was defeated by Japan 4-1. Jordan Ayew scored the only goal for Ghana in the loss.
