BREAKING: Asante Kotoko hands in first bid for the service of Hearts Of Oak’s top Defender
Kumasi Asante Kotoko, a prominent club in the Ghana Premier League, has expressed interest in acquiring the services of the highly-talented defender, Calab Amankwah, as they prepare for the upcoming season. The Porcupine Warriors are keen on securing the 25-year-old center-back to bolster their squad.

Back in 2020, Asante Kotoko had already shown keen interest in signing Amankwah when he was with Aduana Stars. Now, with his contract at Hearts of Oak having expired at the end of the season, the chances of him remaining with the club appear uncertain, particularly since he has reportedly turned down a contract extension offer from them. This situation could potentially allow him to leave the club on a free transfer if an agreement with Hearts of Oak is not reached.
Interestingly, the newly-promoted GPL side, Nations FC, is also exploring the possibility of securing Amankwah’s signature, indicating the player’s high demand in the market.
Throughout the last season, Amankwah exhibited exceptional form despite his club’s struggles in the Ghana Premier League, contributing significantly with four goals and an assist. His move to Hearts of Oak from Aduana Stars on March 12, 2021, proved to be a fruitful one as he tasted success by winning the Ghana Premier League, two FA Cup titles, and the President’s Cup with his new team.
