Asante Kotoko board member Yaw Adu, has stated that the team is putting together plans to win the CAF Champions League for Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club’s life patron.
The Porcupine Warriors have had difficulties in the past.
Kotoko will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League the following year after winning the 2021–2022 Ghana Premier League.
Mr. Adu stated in an interview that they are totally committed to bringing home a Champions League trophy for the Ashanti King.
“No one would want to lose because we learned a lot from our campaign in Africa last year and gained a lot of knowledge.” We even did well last year, but some mafia activity got us kicked out of Sudan, “he told Kumasi’s Akoma FM.
“The King (Otumfuo) has asked that we win Africa, thus we are getting ready to take on this campaign very well.
“Because it’s difficult to win the competition (Africa), I can’t claim with certainty that we are doing so.
We’re going to have to put in a lot of effort and play well to earn a good position. He continued: “Anyone who claims to have the technological know-how is lacking.”
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics named Asante Kotoko the African club of the century after they won the CAF Champions League twice.
