Erling Haaland’s Goals For Manchester City Last Season Compared To Darwin Nunez Goals For Liverpool

Liverpool spent €80 million on signing Darwin Nunez in 2022. He’s one of their most expensive signings of all time. However, he dropped in form after signing for Liverpool and has yet to live up to Liverpool fan’s expectations. Nunez was compared to Manchester City’s new Erling Haaland at the beginning of 2022/2023 season. 

However, Haaland played down the comparison even before the end of last season. The Norwegian forward established himself as the best striker in the premier league and also finished as the leagues’s top scorer with 36 goals. 

Haaland was also impressive in the UEFA Champions League scoring 12 goals in the competition. He won the treble with Manchester City and can be considered as the best striker in the world right now.

Darwin Nunez netted 15 goals in 42 games for Liverpool across all competitions in 2022/2023 season. Erling Haaland on the other hand scored 52 goals in 53 games for Manchester City in all competitions.

Nunez struggled with game time at Liverpool even before the end of last season. The Uruguayan forward fell down the pecking order at the club and he’s expected to regain his form next season. Darwin Nunez was unstoppable during his time at Benfica but dropped in performance after joining the Reds.

Haaland was more impressive in performance last season than Darwin Nunez. The former Borussia Dortmund striker was a better player than Nunez in 2022/2023 season.
