In the Ghana Premier League, Fabio Gama is a major doubt for Asante Kotoko’s match against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
Despite returning to training early this week after missing Kotoko’s last eight games with an injury, the Porcupine Warriors are not including him in their squad.
This season, Gama has appeared in eight games and tallied one assist.
Kotoko’s Isaac Oppong is also expected to miss the match. In December, the player who was unplayable in the early stages of the season suffered an ankle injury and has not played since.
His absence from the Kotoko team’s last 10 matches has left them six points clear at the top of the league.
Although Oppong returned to training this week, he will not be risked against the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium because of his injury.
Mudasiru Salifu, who was absent from the 3-1 win over Accra Lions last weekend due to illness, is expected to return for the first Super Clash of the season.
In an effort to avenge their defeat in Accra last season, Kotoko is looking to win the Ghanaian Premier League title this season against Hearts. With a victory, Kotoko will have a 15-point lead over Hearts.
