Abdul Salam Yakubu tells the Black Stars technical team that Daniel Afriyie Barnieh must be included in the team’s World Cup preparations.
Abdul Salam Yakubu, the new owner of Edubiase United FC, has requested that the technical team of the Ghana Black Stars give Accra Hearts of Oak star Daniel Afriyie Barnieh a call-up to the national team ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Having been very consistent for Heart of Oak since last season, the youngster was instrumental in the team’s double-winning season, which ended a ten-year trophy drought for the club.
A pivot for Hearts of Oak this season in the Ghana Premier League, the youngster is the club’s leading scorer with eight goals in the league this season.
“They should give this young striker, Barnieh, the opportunity to represent their country at the World Cup.” We must provide him with the opportunity to learn. Afriyie Barnieh is a fantastic performer. He’s a fantastic player, no doubt about it. He moves extremely quickly. He possesses all of the necessary characteristics.
It is imperative that we transport him to the World Cup in Qatar. He has the ability to score in every game he plays.” This was revealed on Original FM by Mr. Abdul Salam.
Barnieh was the captain of the 2021 Ghana U20 team, and he scored twice in the final to help the Black Satellites claim the championship trophy.
