Ghana Football Association (GFA) Successfully Completes FIFA Central Review for 2022
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has proudly announced the successful completion of the FIFA Central Review for the accounting period spanning from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.
This remarkable achievement marks the fourth consecutive positive review for the GFA since the current administration, led by Kurt Okraku, assumed office in 2019.
The GFA recognizes the tremendous significance of a successful FIFA Audit, as it plays a pivotal role in supporting its developmental agenda. Meeting the requirements of the audit is crucial, as failure to do so can result in severe repercussions from FIFA, including the withholding of project funds, programs, and FIFA Forward allocations.
To ensure a thorough and comprehensive review, the GFA engaged the services of renowned global professional services firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). PwC conducted an extensive examination of the GFA’s financial records, meticulously assessing compliance with FIFA’s stringent standards and regulations.
In addition, the GFA underwent a separate audit conducted by reputable international audit firm, BakerTilly Andah + Andah. This audit focused on the GFA’s compliance with Ghanaian law, FIFA regulations, and the GFA Statutes, covering the period from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. The audit was successfully completed in December 2022, and the comprehensive audit report has been submitted to FIFA. It forms an integral part of the documentation presented at the GFA Congress.
The completion of the Statutory Audit by BakerTilly Andah + Andah fulfills the requirements stipulated in Article 67 of the GFA Statutes, which governs the appointment of Independent and External Auditors.
With the successful completion of both audits, the GFA reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and adherence to international standards. The positive outcome of the FIFA Central Review showcases the GFA’s responsible financial management and sets a solid foundation for further progress and development in Ghanaian football.
