Former Black Stars and Ghana international, Otto Addo has coincided to become the succeeding Black Stars coach after a fruitful talk with Ghana Football Association (GFA) officials in Germany.
Addo, was member of Milovan Rajevac’s technical team that has been dissolved after Ghana’s shambolic performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
Ghana exited the 33rd edition of the continent’s most estimable competition at the group stages for the first time in 2006.
On Monday, Kurt Okraku, who’s the chairman of the Ghana FA, along with Tony Baffoe, a former Ghana international and Bernhard Lippert, who’s the technical director flew to Germany to hold discussion with Addo over the Black Stars coaching job.
Otto Addo has accepted to take over the Black Stars job but he however asked the Ghana FA official to clutch talks with Borussia Dortmund on their purpose to hire him as a national team coach.
Meanwhile, the Ghana government are also pushing for the appointment of Chris Hughton as the head coach of the national team .
A meeting was held at the Jubilee House on Monday and the former Premier League boss has been assured of the job by the government.Otto Addo though skipped the AFCON competition due to his schedule at the club side Dortmund. Otto Addo was part of the Black Stars team that qualified the nation to it first world cup in Germany in 2006.
Per report, Otto Addo will be supported by Ibrahim Tanko, Maxwell Konadu and AnnorWalker. Black Stars next international game is against Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff in March. Having missed out in 2018 in Russia, Ghana will be hoping to return to the global showpiece once again.
