GPL Golden Boot Winner React on the Surprise Black Stars Call-up Handed to his competitor at his expense

Abednego Tetteh, the top scorer of the Ghana Premier League, has expressed his disappointment after being left out of the Black Stars squad for their upcoming match against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Despite attending several Ghana Premier League matches, coach Chris Hughton initially excluded local-based players from his 24-man squad. However, a late invitation was extended to Hafiz Konkoni, the Bechem United striker who finished with 15 goals in the league, just behind Tetteh who claimed the top scorer title with 18 goals.

Tetteh, who has been in exceptional form for Bibiani Gold Stars, shared his feelings of disappointment about not being recognized for his contributions. He acknowledged that although he feels bad, he can’t change the situation and will instead support the team in their match against Madagascar.
“I’m human, so I feel bad, but I can’t do anything about it. I just have to wish them well against Madagascar. We will support them to deliver,” Tetteh expressed in an interview with Bryt FM.

After facing challenges at his previous clubs, Hearts of Oak and King Faisal, Tetteh found his stride at Bibiani Gold Stars and outperformed renowned strikers like Mezack Afriyie and Sampson Eduku to claim the top scorer award.
As the Black Stars continue their preparations in Accra, they are gearing up for their encounter in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
