Ex-Ghana’s defender, Dan Quaye has rain praises on Sulley Muntari influence on the Ghana Premier League despite joining the Phobians two weeks ago.

The former AC Milan and Inter star returned to the domestic scenes after having a fine football career abroad to penned down a year contract for Hearts of Oak.

Muntari’s effect has been welcome by many football faithful with so much joy with many trooping to stadia to watch the 2010 UEFA Champions League winner.

“His return to the Premier League excites me because it will draw more attention among supporters to various stadia. I watched him play last Sunday and I realised he still has more to offer,” Dan Quaye told Bryt FM in Koforidua.

“I will edge the media to hype such players rather than raining insults. Sulley cannot play like his old days, but at least we should be proud to have him. There are a lot of players who want to return to the league but they are reluctant to come because of insults from the media and supporters.

“The mixer of experienced players in the Ghana Premier league makes it more interesting and attractive, in 2014, me, Godwin Attram and Richard Kingston played for Olympics, and it yielded results, supporters were coming to the stadium in their numbers.

“I’m praying other players who feel they can still play and should emulate Muntari and return home” he concluded.
