JUST IN: Accra Hearts of Oak board holds a crisis meeting with players after a home defeat to Real Tamale United

After suffering a disappointing 1-2 home defeat against RTU, the atmosphere at the Accra Sports Stadium was far from pleasant for Hearts of Oak. Board members of the club were observed on the pitch, engaging in a crucial meeting with the players, in response to their recent string of dismal performances, as reported by Kickgh.

The ‘Phobians’ let go of their lead and experienced a painful loss against the ‘Pride of the North’. This defeat has now become their fourth consecutive loss in the league, with only one victory in their last five matches. As they approach the final round of matches, their current decline has put them in a precarious position.

With 45 points, Hearts of Oak currently occupies the 11th position on the league table. However, their relegation fears are far from over. If they lose their final match and teams like Great Olympics, Legon Cities, Accra Lions, Karela United, and Tamale City all secure victories on the last day, Hearts of Oak could face the dreaded prospect of relegation.

Faced with this alarming situation, the club’s board, led by Vincent Odotei Sowah and Alhaji Akambi, descended to the inner perimeter of the stadium for an emergency meeting with the players. Their intention was to seek answers and understand the underlying reasons behind the team’s recent poor run of form.

In their final match of the season, Hearts of Oak will travel to face Berekum Chelsea. This match carries significant importance for the future of the club in the league.
