Cameroonian striker Alain Thiery Akono Akono will join Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko during the current transfer window.
The 26-year-old former Moroccan top-tier club SC Chabab Mohammedia midfielder has joined the Kumasi-based Premier League outfit on a free transfer.
SC Chabab Mohammedia released Alain Akono after his debut season, in which he only scored one goal in nine appearances across all competitions, failed to live up to expectations.

His compatriot Franck Mbella Etouga Thiery is leaving Asante Kotoko for Italian Serie A side Udinese Calcio, and Alain Akono is taking his place.
Negeri Sembilan FC was his last stop before returning to Africa following a disappointing time with Azam FC in Tanzania.
He scored ten (10) goals for AS Fortuna in Cameroon’s top-flight league in the 2019/20 season.
Originally slated to take place in April 2020, the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) was postponed until January 2021 due to scheduling conflicts. Akono was selected for the Cameroon national team. Because of this, Akono had to withdraw from consideration for the Cameroon national team roster.
