JUST IN: Eric Bekoe sends another hot message to Mbella and Kotoko
Despite Franck Mbella tying my Asante Kotoko goal scoring record – Eric Bekoe – I am still an Asante Kotoko legend.
Eric Bekoe, an ex-Asante Kotoko striker, has insisted that despite Franck Mbella matching his 17-goal record at the club, he is still an Asante Kotoko legend.

On Sunday, the Porcupine Warriors were hosted at the Aliu Mahama Stadium by Ghana Premier League returnees, Real Tamale United [RTU] in one of the matchday 25 games.
The Reds were looking to extend their lead on the league table, but were defeated 2-1 by the Northerners.
Goals from Roland Frimpong and Victor Aidoo gave the home team a two-goal lead before Kotoko’s top scorer Franck Etouga Mbella scored a consolation.
Mbella’s goal brings his debut total to 17 goals and equals Eric’s tally in a single season.

“Hearing Franck Mbella has equaled my goal record, which has stood for nearly 15 years, makes me happy because we’re from the same family (Asante Kotoko), but I wish a Ghanaian player had done that,” he said.
“Mbella has only equaled my 17-goal record and may break it in the future, but I remain an Asante Kotoko legend.
“In only 23 games, he was named Goal King and SWAG Player of the Year.
“In addition, I won the Ghana Premier League and the BK Edusei Memorial Cup,” he said.
Despite the loss, the Reds remain top of the league table with 52 points and will host high-flying Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend in the matchday 26 games.
