Finidi George has affirmed his position as the primary assistant to Lose Peseiro, the esteemed head coach of the Super Eagles, despite earlier speculation that the Nigeria Football Federation had dismissed the skilled winger.
Notably absent from the Super Eagles’ recent encounters against Guinea-Bissau, Finidi, who concurrently serves as the head coach of Nigeria Premier League team, Envimba, has firmly declared his allegiance to the national squad. In an interview with the radio program “Sports Salsa,” the former Ajax player elucidated, “I retain my esteemed role as the foremost assistant to Lose Peseiro and anticipate joining the team next week.
The imminent opening of the camp awaits the players, and provided circumstances remain unchanged, I shall grace its presence. However, my commitment to fulfilling my responsibilities with Enyimba takes precedence. Should matters unfold favorably, I shall eagerly embrace my arrival in camp.”
