Hudson-Odoi, 21, has played for England three times at senior level but he is still eligible for a nationality switch because all three representation came before his 21st birthday and none came at a major tournament.

Former Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Hughton is favorite to take the place of Milovan Rajevac as the next Ghana national team coach after the Serbian was sacked last week.

Rajevac was dismissed following Ghana’s shambolic performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Ghana will battle it out with Nigeria for a place to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in March.
