Kompany and Guardiola Set to Clash as Pochettino will lock horns with his old friend in the Premier League Opener after release of fixtures

Defending champions Manchester City are set to commence their title defense with an away match against newly promoted Burnley on Friday, August 11th.
This fixture will mark a reunion with Burnley’s manager, Vincent Kompany, who previously captained Manchester City for 11 years. Kompany enjoyed a highly successful tenure, winning four Premier League titles, including two under the current City manager, Pep Guardiola.

Since retiring from playing, the 37-year-old Kompany has embarked on a promising coaching career. He achieved early success by finishing as the runner-up with Anderlecht in the 2021/22 Belgian Cup. More recently, he led Burnley to Championship glory, earning them promotion back to the Premier League.
In other matches, fellow promoted sides Luton Town will face Brighton and Hove Albion, while Sheffield United will welcome Crystal Palace.
Chelsea’s season will commence with a challenging encounter against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, marking their first league game under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.
Arsenal will clash with Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium, while Bournemouth will host West Ham.

At St James’ Park, Newcastle United and West Ham will compete, while Everton and Fulham will face off at Goodison Park.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will both begin the season with away fixtures, visiting Brentford and Wolves, respectively.
The 2023/24 Premier League season will conclude on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, with Manchester City aiming to become the first club to secure four successive titles.
