Latest: CAF orders Ghana to extend arrival time of England-based players in pre-AFCON camp

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has extended the arrival date of England based players in Ghana squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac named six players who ply their trade in England for next month’s tournament.

European Club Association and World Leagues Forum requested from CAF that players should be given extra days before they join their respective camps.

CAF has granted the request and has informed the various countries to expect the players to their camping no later than 3 January 2022.

The tournament starts on 9 January 2022 and ends on 6 February 2022 in Cameroon.

Arsenal star Thomas Teye Partey, Jordan Ayew, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Joojo Wollacott, Abdul Rahman Baba and Andy Yiadom have all been listed for the tournament.

The Black Stars are currently in Qatar where they are preparing for the upcoming tournament but will wait till 3 January to get full house.

Ghana are drawn in Group C with Morocco, Gabon and debutants Comoros.
