LATEST: Kudjoe Fianoo discloses how Daniel Opare secured a deal to Real Madrid after Liverpool deal…
Kudjoe Fianoo (former Ashgold CEO) was narrated how Liverpool sent scouts to Obuasi in 2008 to try seal a deal with then 17 years old lateral defender Daniel Opare.

He was one of the highly-rated youngsters in the world after the 2007 U-17 World Cup in South Korea.
Opare, his agent and Fianoo were taken to Anfield and a £50,000 deal was agreed. Liverpool would also sign a partnership agreement with Obuasi Ashgold SC.
The Ghanaian player and his entourage were then taken on a tour of the Liverpool training Complex while the contract documents were being prepared.
During the tour, the Nigerian agent received a call, excused the two and came back to break the news that Real Madrid were interested. They had agreed to pay €450k.
Liverpool deal was rejected. Lad and agent flew to Spain to sign the next day.
