MTN FA CUP R16: No huge surprises as Hearts of Oak, King Faisal, Aduana Stars, Bechem United all cruised into the quarter final

The MTN FA Cup entered into the round of 16 over the weekend with some exciting and mouthwatering encounters coupled with expected outcomes with no any major surprises.

Defending champions, Hearts of Oak were stretched to penalty shootouts by Elmina Sharks after a 2-2 draw in the regulation time but still managed to advance into the quarter final in the end.

Aduana Stars also cruised into the round eight of the league cup after relying on Abdul Mudasiru’s lone goal to narrowly edge out regional rivals Berekum Chelsea.

Legon Cities last Saturday, bowed out of the competition after losing 2-4 on penalties to Dreams FC at the El-Wak Stadium.

King Faisal also exhibited a stellar performance to humble RTU by an emphatic 2-4 in Techiman to advance into the next round.
