Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, has been criticized as being unqualified by Kumasi-based sports reporter Super Obondede of Light FM.
A lot of criticism has been directed at the assistant coach of Borussia Dortmund for Ghana’s subpar performance in a September friendly versus Nicaragua.
Ghana’s national football team was defeated by Brazil, 3-0, in a pre-World Cup game. Supporters continued to have faith in the team’s capacity to compete with the 139th-ranked nation despite the setback.
But on Tuesday, the Black Stars triumphed 1-0 over their Central American opponents.
Many have questioned Addo’s tactics and called for his resignation in the wake of the team’s appalling performance in their first two World Cup games.
According to Super Obondede of Light FM Sports, Addo isn’t intelligent enough to coach the national team.
Scout Otto Addo is. He lacks the ability to think like a coach. He is incompetent to lead the Black Stars.
Otherwise, there will be danger in Qatar if Otto Addo isn’t replaced by Chris Hughton, who is now the Black Stars team’s technical advisor.
Otto Addo has signed a one-year contract with the Ghana Football Association [GFA] as a thank-you for guiding Ghana to the world cup, which will start on November 20 and last until December 18.
