Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin throws his support to Medeama SC as he pledges to give them millions of Cedis for their CAF competition

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin, has pledged GH₵100,000 in support of Medeama SC, the Ghana Premier League champions, as they embark on their CAF Champions League campaign. Medeama SC secured their first-ever Ghana Premier League title with a 3-0 victory over Tamale City on the final day of the season at Akoon Park, ending a 46-year league title drought in the Western Region.

During the team’s champions’ trophy tour, Medeama SC’s management presented the trophy to the parliament, where Alban Bagbin congratulated them on their achievement and offered substantial financial assistance to alleviate their financial burdens as they prepare to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.

“I want to assure Medeama SC that the parliament is behind you, and I hereby pledge GH₵100,000 to support you. You can take up this offer from me at any time,” stated Alban Bagbin. He further emphasized the need for the team to enjoy, rejuvenate, motivate, and incentivize themselves in preparation for the upcoming task. He expressed solidarity and concluded by stating, “Congratulations.”

“On behalf of the parliament, I commit to accompanying them on their journey to the continent to ensure they bring the African Cup home for Ghana. I will take action to ensure they receive the necessary resources and motivation to astonish the continent by winning the cup,” he added.
