Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed his nickname as Senegal in a interview with Sky Sports.

Senegal is a name that was offered to me while playing for my dad’s team.

The name Senegal was given to him because of his playing style which has always remind his father about one of his friends called ‘Armah Senegal’.

Armah Senegal, was a former Ghanaian defender who played with an exceptional tough style.

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder has been phenomenal for the Gunners this season.

Partey scored a goal against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium in that 2-0 win in a great performance display by him.

The deputy Black Stars Captain joined the London club in a hefty cash move from Atletico Madrid in the late summer of 2021/22.

After a troublesome spell in his first season combined with injuries, Partey is presently enjoying in his career at Arsenal with a progression of splendid performance.

Thomas Partey will Captain the Black Stars when they face Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff on March 26 and 29.
