Video: Some players in Medeama and other Local teams deserve a place in the black stars more than Hearts of Oak- A Football Club President

Abdul Salam Yakubu, the President of New Edubiase, has expressed his belief that Ghana’s national team coach, Chris Hughton, should have given opportunities to some local players in his recent squad selection. Yakubu argues that there are talented players in the Ghana Premier League who deserved a call-up for the match against Madagascar earlier this month.
During an interview with Asempa FM, Abdul Salam Yakubu emphasized that players from clubs such as Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC, and Berekum Chelsea have displayed remarkable performances and should have been considered by Chris Hughton for the fifth round of qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

However, Yakubu was quick to mention that, in his opinion, there are currently no players from Hearts of Oak who possess the necessary skill and ability to play for the Black Stars. He firmly stated that the players from Hearts of Oak are not up to par.
Abdul Salam Yakubu’s assessment of Coach Chris Hughton and his thoughts on the local players deserving national team call-ups can be heard in the attached audio recording.
